Both Facebook and Instagram users can now pay for a blue check mark, as Meta, the parent company of the two social media platforms, has just introduced its paid verification. The new feature follows the example of Twitter.
Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg commented on the new verification launch:
“Our goal with this new feature is to enhance authenticity and security across our services… you can get a badge, proactive protection from impersonation, and direct access to customer support.”
The Meta Verified service is only for personal accounts and has different prices depending on the device: $14.99 per month for iOS and Android devices and $11.99 per month for web purchases.
