Jake Paul Suffers First Professional Boxing Loss to Tommy Fury, Career Future Uncertain
Jake Paul’s boxing career is now facing serious questions after he lost his first professional match against Tommy Fury. Despite his highlight-reel knockouts of Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, critics argued that Paul had not yet fought a professional boxer. However, he did so this past Sunday and came up short.
Jake’s opponent, Tommy Fury, had a very similar record to Paul. While Paul boasted a 6-0 record heading into the fight, Fury was 8-0 with a perfect undefeated record. Fury is also the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Although Jake managed to put Tommy down in the 7th round, Fury was declared the winner via split decision by the judges in a very close fight. With his first defeat as a professional boxer, Jake Paul’s future in the sport is uncertain. Check out highlights from the match below.
